Purpose of the Job: To optimize asset utilization, reduce costs, and ensure the availability of high-quality equipment by planning, procurement, maintenance, and disposal of the company’s fleet of construction machinery and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive asset management strategy, including asset acquisition, utilization, maintenance, and disposal.

• Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Optimize equipment utilization and minimize downtime.

• Develop and implement asset replacement and refurbishment plans.

• Oversee the procurement of new equipment and spare parts.

• Implement procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing.

• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers.

• Negotiate favorable contracts and pricing.

• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.

• Develop and implement a vehicle disposal policy.

• Identify cost-saving opportunities in procurement and maintenance.

• Monitor and control expenses related to asset acquisition, maintenance, and fuel.

• Identify and mitigate risks associated with equipment failures, accidents, and regulatory compliance.

• Develop and implement risk management plans.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Generic Duties of the Position:

• Lead the development of the Function’s work plan and monitor their execution.

• Monitor and ensure the proper utilization of the Function’s budgets.

• Direct the identification and fulfillment of human resources requirements of the Function.

• Supervise the development of policies and procedures for the Function and lead in their implementation and continuous review.

• Review, approve and submit functional reports to relevant organs.

• Support the development of subordinates through periodic performance evaluations, coaching, mentoring, ongoing performance dialogue and feedback.

• Oversee the systematic identification of skill and competency requirements for the Function.

• Represent the function in external relationships related with the Function.

• Take part in the group decision making process by forming part of different groups/committees.

Job Requirement

• Qualifications and Experience: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Logistics and Supply Chain, Management, Accounting or relevant fields of study with a minimum of eight (8) years of demonstrated experience, with at least four (4) years in a managerial role. OR Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Logistics and Supply Chain, Management, Accounting or relevant fields of study with a minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated experience, with at least five (5) years in a managerial role.
