Job Description

  • To ensure financial discipline, and drive operational efficiency by preparing financial plans, conducting analysis, preparing reports and ensuring compliance. Key Result Areas:

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

  • Provide accurate financial forecasts to guide decision-making.

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.

  • Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations, including tax filings and audits.

  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls.

  • Develop and implement optimization strategies for collection of receivables.

  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and take proactive measures on overdue accounts.

  • Oversee timely and accurate payment of invoices, adhering to contractual terms and company policies.

  • Oversee the financial management systems and procedures across the Company including internal controls and completion of the annual audit.

  • Design and implement the necessary controls to protect the Company’s assets and prevent any potential areas of fraud.

  • Monitor the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, financial reports, and special analysis reports.

  • Provide strategic input and advice in the preparation of tenders, contracts and proposals including meetings for negotiations as necessary.

  • Lead the development of IT strategy by closely aligning with Manager, IT to ensure that it meets the current and future requirements of the business.

  • Follow-up the execution of IT strategies to ensure alignment with business strategies and priorities.

 Generic Duties of the Position:

  • Develop the Department’s work plan and monitor their execution.

  • Identify and fulfill human resource requirements of the Department.

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the Department.

  • Monitor and ensure the proper utilization of the Department’s budgets.

  • Lead the preparation of Departmental reports to relevant organs.

  • Support the development of subordinates through periodic performance evaluations, coaching, mentoring, ongoing performance dialogue and feedback.

  • Represent the Department in internal and external relationships.

  • Take part in the group decision making process by forming part of different groups/committees.

Job Requirement

  • Qualifications and Experience: Master’s degree in Finance and Accounting with a minimum of eight (8) years of demonstrated experience, with at least four (4) years in a leadership role, preferably in the construction industry   OR Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting with a minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated experience, with at least five (5) years in a leadership role, preferably in the construction industry
