Job Summary

The Legal and Compliance Officer will support the legal and regulatory activities of EthioChicken and its subsidiaries. This entry-level role is ideal for a fresh law graduate who is eager to learn and grow in a corporate environment. The officer will assist with organizing legal documents, following up on compliance tasks, supporting HR and other departments with legal issues, and working with external lawyers when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and follow up on ongoing court cases

• Oversee the renewal process of rental agreements

• Manage insurance policies (excluding vehicle-related policies)

• Organize and maintain legal files and documentation

• Liaise with external lawyers on outsourced legal matters

• Draft letters, reports, and official documents for both internal and external stakeholders

• Provide legal support to HR, particularly in matters related to labor law compliance

• Accompany company representatives to court proceedings or government offices when needed

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of shareholders, directors, and board documentation

• Assist in drafting Powers of Attorney, board meeting minutes, and resolutions

• Assist with compliance tasks, including internal and external audits.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in law (LL. B) from a recognized university
