Position Overview
JaRco is seeking a full-time Logistic and Operation Manager to oversee and manage the daily operational activities of the company’s fieldwork. This position plays a critical role in ensuring efficient and timely execution of logistics and operational procedures, enabling the organization to achieve maximum productivity with its resources.

The Logistic and Operation Manager will coordinate and implement logistical functions and ensure adherence to operational protocols across all projects. This role reports directly to the Chief HR and Compliance Officer and works closely with the Finance, Human Resources, and Program Departments. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in mobilizing and managing a large fleet of vehicles and personnel on short notice. The role requires adaptability in a fast-paced environment, strong leadership, and a focus on fostering a collaborative and efficient working culture.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage logistics and support plans for ongoing and upcoming projects, including timelines and budget forecasts.

  • Develop and implement operational procedures, logistics contingency plans, and downsizing or phase-out strategies.

  • Revise and standardize operating procedures across projects.

  • Design and apply methodologies and tools that ensure effective logistics execution and support.

  • Manage logistics operations, including personnel and material movement, ensuring timely, accountable, and cost-effective support.

  • Coordinate logistics efforts with procurement, finance, human resources, and program teams.

  • Review vehicle logbooks regularly to ensure appropriate use and fuel efficiency. Report any discrepancies or policy violations.

  • Coordinate vehicle allocation and staff movement plans in collaboration with Program Managers.

  • Organize domestic and international travel and accommodation logistics for staff.

  • Liaise with national, regional, and local government offices to facilitate smooth project implementation and obtain required clearances or support letters.

  • Maintain accurate records of rental properties and ensure timely renewal and processing of lease agreements in coordination with procurement and finance.

  • Maintain organized filing systems and a centralized repository for logistics documentation.

Job Requirements

Required Competencies

  • Strong initiative and accountability, with a thorough understanding of logistics and operational best practices.

  • Effective leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to prepare clear logistics reports and liaise with government and other stakeholders.

  • Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Proven planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple work streams.

  • Sound judgment and decision-making ability, particularly in high-pressure situations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Masters in Logistics Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in logistics and project operations, preferably in a consulting or NGO environment.
