Job title General Accountant
Reports To: Finance Manager
Duties & Responsibilities:
To manage directly all store/shop accountants and indirectly store keepers across our regions.
To ensure your teams performance management are completed twice a year.
You are the custodian of stock records/balances, responsible for physical verification, regular reconciliations and general monitoring of stock movement;
Assist in developing and implementing inventory policies and procedures;
Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc inventory levels and reports to all the relevant stakeholders;
Facilitate and participate in monthly and annual stock counts in the field;
Work closely with other main and supporting competencies and provide the necessary advice and support around your activities;
Perform monthly stock reconciliations of physical counts against SALES TRANSFER OR ISSUES for all regions inventory and highlight variances to the Line Manager
Reconcile stock deliveries with purchase orders and actual invoices.
Coordinate with main store team to implement and ensure a control system to reduce inventory obsolescence;
Support accurate and timely reporting through ensuring all stock data is updated correctly;
Carry out spot checks on stock balances in the any stores against records capture;
Any other office duty as assigned by the line manager.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in general accounting
Solid understanding of accounting principles, inventory control, and financial reconciliation.
