Job Description
CVDA has been re-registered and licensed by the Ethiopian Ministry of Justice, Charities and Societies Agency, on November 30, 2009 as an Ethiopian Residents charity in accordance with the Charities and Societies proclamation No. 621/2009 with registration No. 0588. As per 1113/2019 proclamation also re-registered on July 30, 2019.
CVDA has permission to work at the national level however so far operates marginal parts of Benshangule Gumuz Region, Sidama region, South Ethiopia Region, Central Ethiopia region, South west Ethiopia region, Oromiya region, Afar region and Addis Ababa City administration.
It is member of Consortium of Reproductive Health Association (CORHA), Union of Ethiopian Women Charitable Association (UEWCA), Ethiopian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative/EEITI/, Ethiopia Civil Society Coalition for Scaling up Nutrition/ECSC-SUN/ and Afar Region Health Partner Forum.

CVDA envisions a poverty-free Ethiopia where equity and equality are ensured.
Mission:
CVDA’s mission is to enhance socioeconomic development in health, education, agriculture, environment, livelihood, and WaSH, humanitarian responses, community-based peace-building, and good governance through holistic approaches and working with the community to contribute towards sustainable development and an improved standard of living in Ethiopia.
Overall goal:
CVDA’s goal is to contribute to poverty alleviation through community-based approaches by implementing programs for development, good governance, and humanitarian responses in different regions of the country.

Gender, Safeguarding & Inclusion Advisor will have the following duty and responsibility but not limted to listed below:
Ensure that gender, safeguarding, and social inclusion are well integrated and mainstreamed across all aspects of the project, including design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, staffing, training, and partnership strategies.
Provide guidance on technical approaches and innovations to enhance impact on women-led businesses, women in leadership, and women’s participation in decision-making at all levels.
Provide technical input to ensure project performance indicators reflect progress on gender equality, women’s economic empowerment, and inclusive outcomes.
Conduct gender, safeguarding, and social inclusion assessments, reviews, and audits to identify areas of improvement and strategies to increase the involvement of women, youth, and marginalized populations in project activities.
Provide strategic technical guidance on gender and inclusion integration to project staff, government stakeholders, and local institutions.
Develop staff capacity to integrate gender and social inclusion into programmatic and government-led initiatives and represent CVDA as a thought leader in inclusive programming in Ethiopia.
Work closely with the monitoring, evaluation, and learning team to ensure inclusive data collection, gender-disaggregated analysis, and reporting against inclusion indicators.
Identify and document successful practices that advance gender and inclusion outcomes for use in publications, communication materials, and knowledge-sharing forums.
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of organizational policies, procedures, and response mechanisms related to gender, safeguarding, and inclusion.
Coordinate with other technical advisors (e.g., Business Development) to ensure inclusive design and implementation of interventions across the economic empowerment strategy.
Required qualification
At least four (4) years with master’s degree or six (6) years of experience with first degree in public health, sociology, gender studies, social and behavioral science or other relevant disciplines.
Demonstrated capacity to lead the collection, analysis, and utilization of information from a broad range of sources.
Proven technical expertise in addressing harmful gender norms, preventing, and responding to gender-based violence, reducing vulnerability of adolescent girls and young women, and constructive engagement of men and boys, as applied to very poor and highly vulnerable settings.
Familiarity with safeguarding standards and experience overseeing incident response protocols is an asset.
Experience providing technical coaching and mentorship to colleagues.
Ability to write, compile and/or edit quality learning documents
Proficient in English and Amharic, and somali language both written and verbal communication Willingness to travel within project areas.
