Job Overview 

As a Waitstaff and Event Services Professional at Grand Hyatt Kuwait, you will be entrusted with the vital role of delivering exceptional and consistent service to our esteemed guests. Your responsibilities will include serving high-quality food and beverages, ensuring that each interaction reflects a courteous, professional, and efficient approach aimed at maximizing guest satisfaction.  Responsible to: Restaurant Manager/ Assistant Manager / Team Leader

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Operational: 

  • To follow the sequence of service laid out as per brand standards.

  • To handle guest enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints or problems to supervisors if no immediate solution can be found and assure follow up with guests.

  • Update guest notes 100% i.e. make detailed guest notes after service on your respective tables.

  • To have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage items in the menu and the ability to recommend food & beverage combinations and upsell alternatives.

  • Deliver unprecedented personalization. Offer discreet recognition. Connect with guests’ passions and create memorable experiences.

  • Maintain high visibility ‘on the floor’ and provide assistance to our guests in a pro-active way.

  • Know the daily targets and projections.

  • To be fully aware with all services, offers, promotions and facilities offered by the hotel. 

  • Communicate effectively between all internal workplace restaurant departments i.e managers, chefs, bartenders.

  • Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems, to include par levels as set by the management.

  • To alert any potential problems to your direct supervision, where possible before they arise.

  • To ensure that the place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.

  • To perform opening and closing procedures established by the restaurant.

  • To ensure that the local occupational safety and health requirements, as well as the company safety and security policies are being adhered to.

Customer Service: 

  • To ensure that all associates deliver the brand promise and provide exceptional guest service at all times.

  • To ensure that all associates are familiar with World of Hyatt program and have attended respective training.

  • To build and deliver brand-led experiences that will contribute to exceeding hotel NPS and customer services scores.

  • To ensure associates are making full use of the Guest Experience Management program (GEM).

 Personnel: 

  • Promote a growth mindset culture that encourages personal development. 

  • Supports colleagues in their professional development goals. 

  • To be able to comply with the company’s performance management and disciplinary procedure

General: 

  • To understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Associate Handbook and the Hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety. 

  • To attend and contribute to all staff meetings, departmental and hotel trainings scheduled and other related activities. 

  • To respond to any changes in the restaurant function as dictated by the Management. 

  • To lead by example.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Fluent English communication is mandatory (Arabic proficiency is a plus)

  • COC (Certificate of Competency) on hand is mandatory

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a five-star hospitality environment

  • College Diploma or Level III Certificate in Social/Natural Sciences

  • Presentable, confident, and customer-focused

  • Valid passport with at least 2 years remaining

  • Age: 20–30 years old

Preferred Skills and Qualities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with guests from diverse cultures.

  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure, handling challenges gracefully.

  • Exceptional grooming standards, ensuring a polished and professional appearance at all times.

  • Positive attitude with the ability to anticipate and exceed guest expectations.

  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Background knowledge in safety protocols or first aid is a bonus.

 Additional Requirements 

  • Willingness to undergo a medical examination and meet all employment prerequisites.
