Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
Prepare accurate financial statements and reports in compliance with applicable accounting standards and school policies.
Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts and bank statements.
Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
Coordinate and complete annual audits.
Manage budget preparation and budgetary control.
Ensure compliance with tax and other statutory requirements.
Supervise and support junior accounting staff.
Liaise with external auditors, banks, and other stakeholders.
Provide financial advice and support to management for informed decision-making.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
Certification in ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or other relevant professional accounting certification.
Training or certification in IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) is an added advantage.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in an educational institution or similar sector.
Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws, accounting standards, and AABE requirements.
Membership in the Ethiopian Professional Accountants and Auditors Association (EPAAA) is an asset.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
