Description
Ethiopian National Association of the Blind (ENAB) is the first Organization for Peoples with disabilities in Ethiopia. Since its establishment, ENAB works more than 65 years for the realization of the right for people with Visual impairments. ENAB is collaborating and networking with many local and international organizations towards this objective. ENAB would like to announce vacant position for Junior project officer and hire competent applicant.
Position: Junior project officer (Assistant) for Inclusive Education
Location: Head office (Addis Ababa)
Salary: 14,950.00 transport allowance 1,500.00 and communication allowance 1,000.00
Duration: One year contract with possible extension based on fund availability and performance.
Working Conditions.
Office-based with regular field visits.
Occasional weekend or evening hours depending on project needs.
Job Purpose.
To provide professional and administrative support to the Inclusive Education Coordinator, who is a person with visual impairment, by reading printed and digital materials, writing reports and correspondence, supporting digital tasks, and accompanying the coordinator to meetings and events as needed.
Read aloud printed documents, reports, emails, letters, and academic materials to the coordinator.
Write or type documents, reports, meeting minutes, and official letters as dictated or guided by the coordinator.
Support email communication and file management using digital tools.
Accompany the Coordinator to internal and external meetings, workshops, and field visits and provide reading/writing assistance during these events.
Assist in preparing PowerPoint presentations and written content for trainings and workshops.
Organize, print, and scan documents as needed.
Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in all tasks.
Maintain a professional and respectful working relationship with the coordinator and other staff.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience.
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Special Needs Education, Social Work, Secretariat science, information communication technology, statical, economics and related fields.
minimum of 1 year of experience.
Experience working with persons with disabilities is desirable.
Required Skills and Competencies.
Strong communication skills in Amharic and English (written and verbal).
Excellent typing, note-taking, and report-writing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and internet browsing.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Trustworthy, patient, empathetic, and respectful.
Willingness to accompany the coordinator during external engagements.
Sensitivity to issues of disability inclusion, particularly visual impairment.
