Job Description
Monitor and inspect food production processes to ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
Conduct regular audits, inspections, and sampling of raw materials, production areas, and finished products.
Implement and maintain food safety systems (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000).
Investigate customer complaints and quality issues, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
Ensure that hygiene and sanitation protocols are strictly followed in all food handling areas.
Keep records of inspections, tests, and food safety documentation as per regulatory requirements.
Train staff on food safety, hygiene practices, and quality control procedures.
Liaise with suppliers and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
Develop, review, and update quality control and food safety procedures regularly.
Monitor storage conditions to prevent contamination and spoilage.
Stay updated on local and international food safety regulations and trends.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Nutrition, Food Science and post-harvest technology, Food Technology, Food Engineering, Nutrition or a related field with food safety management system certification (ISO 22000, HACCP).
Experience
2+ years of experience in food safety, quality control, or a similar role.
Competency
Knowledge of food safety systems such as HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of local and international food safety regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Effective communication and reporting skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
