Job Description

Hope Walks is dedicated to eliminating clubfoot as a cause of adult disability worldwide. We work closely with local communities, healthcare providers, and partners to ensure children born with clubfoot receive the treatment and support they need to lead healthy, active lives.

Position: Counselling Program Coordinator

Location: Addis Ababa

Organization: Hope Walks Inc.

Employment Type: Full-time

Reported to: Counseling Program Coordinators-Lead

Travel Requirement: Up to 30%

Position Overview:

The Counselling Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the national clubfoot program by managing activities, providing mentorship to Parent Advisors, and fostering partnerships to ensure the success of Hope Walks’ mission. The ideal candidate will be passionate about counseling, community engagement, and program management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the national clubfoot program within the approved budget and operational plan.

  • Conduct regular planning and program reviews with the counseling program coordinators—lead Provide timely reports on program progress and partner activities.

  • Organize and facilitate training, workshops, and seminars for parent advisors.

  • Mentor and support clinic Parent advisors, addressing challenges and ensuring effective counseling services.

  • Monitor reports from clinics, identify issues, and implement solutions.

  • Build and maintain partnerships with relevant organizations to promote local ownership of the program.

  • Educate and create networks for awareness, early detection, patient referral, treatment follow-up, and compliance.

  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting by parent advisors and submit required data and narrative reports.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: MA or BA in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in social work, counseling, or a similar role, with prior supervisory or management experience.

  • Languages: Fluency in English and one predominant regional language.

  • Independent, flexible, and proactive problem-solver

  • Effective communicator (verbal and written)

  • Skilled in planning, monitoring, and evaluation
