Job Description

The Center for Innovative Drug Development and Therapeutic Trials for Africa (CDT-Africa) is a regional center of excellence for education and research at Addis Ababa University. The main aim of CDT-Africa is to build medical discovery capacity (drugs, vaccines and diagnostics) in Africa through high quality training and research programs.

As part of these efforts, Addis Ababa University Center for Innovative Drug Development and Therapeutic Trials for Africa (CDT-Africa) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Data Management Officer to work for the ADAPT Project under the center.

The African One Health Network for Disease Prevention (ADAPT) project is funded by the German government and it is a research and capacity building project on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), a major global health threat, and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).

The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing, analyzing, and maintaining project data to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and security. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for data driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the project together with the PI

  • Report project progress report

  • Compile quarterly reports as per the requirement of the project

  • Develop and maintain efficient data management systems.

  • Manage Documentation

  • Collect, store, and analyze data to support organizational objectives.

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all platforms.

  • Create detailed reports and dashboards to support decision-making.

  • Implement data security protocols to protect sensitive information.

  • Train team members on data management tools and best practices.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline data workflows.

  • Any other associated tasks

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health-related field, or a related field. MSc in Health-related field is an advantage

  • At least one year of experience in project coordination, or data management role.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of data security and privacy regulations is an advantage.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Hours of Work: Governed by the laws of Ethiopia; however, due to the nature of the work, overtime and weekend work may be required, with appropriate financial compensation.

  • Holidays: Governed by the rules of Addis Ababa University for project workers.

  • Probationary Period: There is a three-month probationary period for this role, with contracts subject to renewal every six months.
