We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Export Officer to handle our export operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth customs clearance, timely shipments, and full regulatory compliance. 

The Senior Export Officer is responsible to ensure smooth export operations by handling documentation, coordinating with clients and internal teams, and complying with customs and banking regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle the end-to-end export process, including order processing, documentation preparation, and shipping arrangements

• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth and timely execution of export orders

• Monitor and track export shipments, providing regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders

• Prepare and handle all necessary export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading/airway bills, and export licenses

• Stay updated on changes in international trade regulations, customs requirements, and INCOTERMS

• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian customs and international trade regulations

• Track shipments, address and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to export documentation and compliance

• Liaise  with freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, and customs brokers to negotiate rates, book shipments, and ensure efficient transportation 

• Generate regular reports on export activities, including shipment volumes, transit times, costs, and compliance metrics

• Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems

Job Requirements

• BA in International Trade & Finance, Marketing, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in export operations 

• In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, INCOTERMS, customs procedures, and export compliance

• Proficiency in preparing and handling export documentation

• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills

• Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities

• Knowledge of Letters of Credit and other international trade finance instruments is highly desirable
