Job Description

The post holder is responsible for the deliveries of results in line with pre-agreed program/project planes, objectives and oversee the implementation of GBV and child protection programs in the PA and contribute towards achieving the country program goal of improved protection mechanisms and community practices against harmful traditional practices and violence against children and adolescents. Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

  • Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.

  • Ensures that the team members under supervision are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;

  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.

  • Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted. 

Job Requirements

The Individual

  • BA degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Law, Public health, Child Development and other related fields.

  • A minimum of 3 years of humanitarian aid experience applied in emergency/recovery response operations preferably in the area of child protection and youth program Activity.

  • Excellent knowledge of SGBV and Child protection minimum standards and basic principles; Good knowledge of SGBV and Child Protection case management.

  • Excellent knowledge of basic GBV, child protection and youth principles and child & adult development and learning.

  • Good knowledge of donor grants and contract regulations.
