Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities:
Collect, analyze, and summarize cost data to determine manufacturing costs (materials, labor, overhead).
Prepare cost forecasts and budgets, and monitor variances between actual and budgeted costs.
Perform month-end and year-end close processes related to inventory and cost accounting.
Maintain cost accounting system and ensure data integrity and accuracy.
Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided to determine effects on cost.
Assist with inventory valuation and perform regular physical inventory audits.
Support pricing strategies by providing accurate product costing.
Prepare reports and presentations for management on cost performance and profitability.
Work closely with production, procurement, and supply chain departments to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field .
Proven experience as a Cost Accountant or in a similar role (typically 2+ years).
Solid understanding of cost accounting principles and financial analysis.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
