Job Description
MK Steel Manufacturing PLC is a fast-growing manufacturer of steel products based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We are committed to delivering high-quality products through innovation and operational excellence. As part of our expansion, we are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant I to join our Finance team.
Position Summary
The Accountant I will be responsible for recording day-to-day financial transactions, preparing payroll and tax-related reports, and ensuring accurate and timely financial documentation. The role requires hands-on experience with accounting software and solid knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations and reporting requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Record daily financial transactions accurately using Peachtree accounting software.
• Maintain and organize financial documents in compliance with company policy.
• Process company payroll, invoices, and manage VAT, Withholding, and Income Tax filings.
• Prepare and submit monthly tax schedules including pension, income tax, and VAT.
• Support monthly and annual financial reporting and audits.
• Perform any other finance-related duties assigned by the supervisor or finance manager.
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in an accounting role.
Key Skills and Competencies
• Strong understanding of Ethiopian accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in Peachtree accounting software.
• Excellent command of MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
