1. Job Description for Senior Accountant
A Senior Accountant is a highly experienced financial professional responsible for overseeing and managing various accounting functions within an organization. They analyze financial data, prepare reports, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and may supervise junior accounting staff. Senior Accountants also contribute to financial planning, budgeting, and cost analysis.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP and IFRS).
Financial Analysis:
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential issues, providing insights for decision-making and budget planning.
General Ledger Management:
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Oversee and manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections, as well as proper cash flow management.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development and maintenance of financial budgets and forecasts, including variance analysis and forecasting performance.
Tax Compliance:
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including preparing and filing tax returns and supporting audit processes.
Internal Controls:
Assist in developing and implementing internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with regulations.
Audit Support:
Assist with internal and external audits, providing documentation and supporting the audit process.
Supervision and Training:
Supervise and train junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support on accounting procedures and best practices.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with other departments, including finance, operations, and sales, to gather data and ensure data accuracy.
Process Improvement:
Identify areas for improvement in accounting processes and procedures, implementing changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Job Requirements
Qualification
Master /Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Accounting and Finance with minimum of 3(three) years proven work experience in manufacturing industry.
Language Profficiency:- Amharic ,Afaan Oromo and English
