Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, including Ethio Telecom and Safaricom, acting as the main point of contact and trusted advisor.

2. Understand clients’ business needs and provide tailored solutions to enhance partnership value.

3. Maintain regular communication with clients and internal teams to strengthen relationships, proactively address issues, and ensure the timely delivery of solutions.

4. Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and account growth within existing accounts and territories.

5. Onboard new clients efficiently, ensuring smooth integration and understanding of service offerings.

6. Collaborate with internal teams (sales, marketing, product development) to meet client requirements and deliver integrated solutions.

7. Monitor account performance, prepare regular reports on account health and growth, and forecast key account metrics.

8. Negotiate contracts and terms to secure mutually beneficial arrangements.

9. Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions related to key accounts.

10. Lead and mentor junior account managers or sales associates, conducting performance reviews, training, and coaching.

11. Develop strategic account plans, set performance targets, and ensure team adherence to company policies and standards of customer service.

12. Identify and pursue new sales opportunities, including networking, fact-finding, and closing new accounts.

13. Prepare and deliver effective sales presentations aligned with customer business plans, using strategic negotiation techniques.

14. Leverage management tools to analyze data on coverage productivity, retail conditions, and program compliance.

15. Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet client needs.

16. Ensure the successful and timely delivery of solutions aligned with client objectives.

17. Communicate progress on initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.

18. Assist with high-severity requests or issue escalations as needed.

19. Perform other related assignments as directed by superiors.

Job Requirements

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, outlook).

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • A strong work ethic and a commitment to meeting deadlines result oriented, pressure resistant, positive thinking, strong sense of execution,

  • Familiarity with BRM and CRM practices along with ability to build productive business professional relationships

  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales

  • Excellent selling, negotiation and communication skills

  • Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs

  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback.

  • must be able to travel frequently, passionate on the work of business development.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management, Business Administration or business field with 5 to 10 years’ experience in Key Account Manager or similar role.  demonstrating a strong understanding of Key Account Management, Strategy and practices, & out of which 3 or 6 years must be on similar Managerial or Supervisory position;
