We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Operations Officer with in-depth knowledge of car carrier services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all operations related to vehicle transportation. This role requires strong organizational skills, deep industry experience, and a commitment to service excellence. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise transport and logistics activities to ensure smooth operations.

• Develop and implement efficient routing and scheduling systems to maximize resource utilization and minimize delivery delays.

• Oversee fleet management including vehicle assignment, maintenance schedules, and fuel usage tracking.

• Monitor daily dispatch and ensure timely delivery of goods while addressing any issues or delays.

• Coordinate with clients, drivers, and warehouse teams to ensure effective communication and service delivery.

• Track shipments using GPS and transport management systems and report on performance metrics.

• Ensure compliance with local transport laws, licensing requirements, and company policies.

• Lead and supervise logistics staff including dispatchers and fleet supervisors; conduct performance evaluations and training.

• Develop logistics cost-control strategies and contribute to budgeting and forecasting.

• Maintain records of transport activities, fuel consumption, vehicle maintenance, and driver performance.

• Handle incident reporting, accidents, and ensure timely response and documentation.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics or transport operations, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.

• Strong knowledge of transport laws, fleet operations, and logistics best practices.

• Proficient in logistics software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office tools.

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong leadership and team management abilities.

• Good communication skills in both written and spoken [English/Amharic/Other relevant language].

• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks with attention to detail.
