Job Description
Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Senior Level
To uphold the highest standards of integrity and honesty at Laphto, promote the facility’s reputation, and ensure the delivery of excellent professional and personal service for the comfort and satisfaction of all guests.
The Facilities Manager oversees all operational aspects of Laphto’s diverse amenities, including VIGOR Fitness, Bowlarama, the Rec. Room, and AQUA Club, ensuring compliance with legal, HR, and budgetary requirements.
1. Customer Relations and Marketing
Ensure all staff maintain exemplary hygiene, dress, and professionalism.
Serve as the main interface between guests and staff, circulating throughout all facilities.
Build and maintain positive guest relationships, proactively resolving complaints.
Conduct regular facility walk-throughs to identify and address issues.
Establish relationships with promoters, suppliers, and distributors for optimal service and rates.
Stay updated on industry trends and suggest marketing or promotional improvements.
Coordinate with sales/marketing for promotions, special events, and publicity.
Maintain a strong community presence and partnerships with relevant organizations.
2. Operations
Ensure compliance with all operational laws, occupational health, and safety regulations.
Oversee day-to-day facility operations, focusing on operational excellence and guest service.
Monitor cash and revenue areas, address outstanding order issues promptly.
Ensure facilities are properly opened, operated, and closed, with all areas prepared and staffed.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation across all areas.
Supervise business unit service orders and compliance with standards.
Ensure proper training and compliance with alcohol regulations and security protocols.
Design and implement cleaning and maintenance schedules.
Oversee building maintenance, repairs, and recommend facility improvements.
3. Control and Finance
Maintain profit margins and control costs through effective systems and analysis.
Maximize utilization of all facilities and monitor cash handling and revenue streams.
Oversee major transactions, cashier activities, and special use needs.
Prepare and submit all required financial and operational reports.
Consult with the CFO on major expenditures and recommend cost-saving measures.
Analyze POS data for efficiency improvements and monitor inventory and asset management.
Ensure proper ordering, storage, and issuance of consumables and non-consumables.
4. Human Resources
Foster a team environment focused on exceptional customer service and high performance.
Lead recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation of all facility staff.
Prepare and administer performance appraisals and provide ongoing feedback.
Develop and implement staff training manuals and standards.
Schedule staff levels to meet business needs and maximize customer experience.
Monitor staff performance, records, and address all HR-related issues promptly.
Ensure smooth staff transitions and effective roster management
Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Hospitality, Facility Management, or related field.
Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in operations or facility management.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage diverse teams and complex operations.
Financial acumen and experience with POS and facility management systems.
High integrity, professionalism, and commitment to guest satisfaction.
