Job Description
Implement and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards.
Conduct routine inspections and audits to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and environmental risks, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Monitor waste management processes, water and energy usage, and pollution control systems to minimize environmental impact.
Provide safety guidelines for equipment usage, chemical handling, and emergency situations.
Maintain up-to-date records of incidents, safety inspections, risk assessments, and EHS-related permits.
Serve as the primary responder to workplace incidents requiring first aid, ensuring proper medical treatment is provided promptly.
Maintain and inspect first aid kits, emergency equipment, and medical supplies, ensuring they are stocked and functional.
Coordinate with local medical facilities and emergency services for prompt assistance in severe cases.
Conduct EHS and first aid training sessions for all employees, including proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), first aid procedures, and emergency response.
Promote awareness of workplace safety, health regulations, and environmental sustainability through campaigns and toolbox talks.
Train new hires during induction programs on first aid and company safety policies
Prepare detailed reports of all incidents and ensure corrective actions are tracked and implemented.
Maintain compliance by reporting incidents to relevant authorities when required.
Ensure the factory complies with national EHS regulations and internal standards.
Keep records of permits, safety reports, training logs, and incident reports.
Foster an environment that supports an engaged safety and quality culture.
Maintained a SAFE ZONE to employees by ensuring all hazards are identified, reported and removed.
Report all unsafe conditions, near misses and unsafe behaviors.
Reported all accidents and incidents.
Engaged with employees continuously through safety talk to create awareness
Qualification
A relevant degree in Health Officer, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or a similar field is crucial. This ensures that the candidate has a strong foundation in health and emergency management principles.
Look for certifications in first aid, CPR, EMT, or advanced life-saving techniques. Additional certifications in workplace safety can also be an advantage.
Language: - Amharic, English and Oromo is plus
