Job Description
Reach The Needy – Ethiopia (RTN-Ethiopia) is a child focused community based, not for profit, non-religious and discrimination free indigenous humanitarian national organization that exists to help the Deprived, Excluded and Vulnerable children become productive, confident and responsible citizens, parents and leaders of tomorrow that directly involve and contribute for the development of the country. RTN has been working Child Sponsorship, development & humanitarian programs in partnership with ChildFund, CARE Ethiopia, PLAN Ethiopia and UNICEF.
Therefore, we would like to invite interested and qualified applicants for the following post.
Position: Community Development Facilitator (CDF)
Requirement: 4 (Four).
Support the enrolled children and their families in the provision of health, education, nutrition and youth development services. Support the enrolled children and their families establish and maintain communication with sponsors in time following appropriate process and procedures. Keep the inventory and correspondences part of sponsor relations and program as per the guide line in the catchment. Collect and compile necessary data periodically.
Undertake day to day follow up of Health, Education, Sponsor Relations and Youth Development activities carried out in the catchments
Ensure 100% quality of sponsorship communication and timely submission.
Ensure Children files confidentiality and access with an authorized individuals and the safeguarding policy of the organization.
Facilitate and deliver capacity building trainings of both sponsorship communication and Program to the community.
Report any child incidents within 24 hours’ time in written.
Conduct regular home visits of the assigned children and their families and prepare the required reports timely
Ensure that enrolled children have access to health, education and youth program services.
Make regular follow up of the enrolled children and their siblings on school registration, attendance and performance.
Facilitate the timely medical refund for the enrolled children
Keep proper records of medical certificate and relevant documents of the enrolled children and their siblings and pass on to the concerned officer for action.
Facilitate government’s measurement of under five enrolled/sibling children every three months and pass on the report to the office.
Mobilize the community of the catchments area for any required activities
Organize Child Progress Report ahead of schedule for all enrolled children and complete before the dead line
Organize report of children’s presence, education, participation/benefits and health status ahead and take actions based on the findings/results.
Terms of employment: 1 (One) year Contract with the possibility of extension based on availability of fund and work performance.
Salary: As per the scale of the organization
Place of work: 2 Wolaita Zones Boloso Sore Woreda and 2 Sidama Region, Dara Woreda
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
BA Degree in Social Science, Education, Agriculture, Development Studies or other related field of study + 4 years’ experience.
Language Ability:
Good communication skills in Amharic, English and local language of the operational area.
Skills:
Community based development, problem solving, and excellent oral and written communication, good report writing skill, networking, and negotiation and lobbing skills.
Motor Bicycle Driving License is a MUST and Computer literacy is advantageous.
