People in Need is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded on the ideals of humanity, freedom, equality and solidarity.
People in Need was established in 1992 by a group of Czech war correspondents, journalists and activists and has grown to become one of the largest non-profit organization in Central and Eastern Europe.
Throughout our 30 years of existence, People in Need continues to engage in humanitarian aid, development cooperation, education and social inclusion.
We have been operating in Ethiopia since 2003, working in Six regions; Oromia, South Ethiopia, Central Ethiopia, Sidama, Amhara and Tigray in different multi sectoral projects in the areas of development and emergency response.
People in Need, from the very start of its operations in Ethiopia, has focused on projects in five main areas of interest: Education, Agriculture, Climate and Environment, Water and Social protection.

PIN currently is seeking energetic, disciplined, responsible Field Officer for the specific project entitled “Empowering Futures for Youth and Women beyond Agriculture’’
PIN currently invites applicants for the position of Field Officer
Length of Contract: definite (until December 31, 2027)
Place of Work: - Based in Moyale, Oromia Region with frequent travel to PIN’s project sites in different regions as required.
Salary: 340 USD
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the immediate supervision of the Project Coordinator (PC) and close support and collaboration with the EC Project Manager (PjM) and Consortium Coordinator (CC), the Field Officer (FO) is responsible for the successful implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the project activities and outputs at the field level, in the assigned target areas. The FO is also responsible the achievement of the planned specific results of the project in proper quality and time and as per the stipulated project documents. The FO works under supervision of a Project Coordinator, and collaborates with woreda government Officials, TVETS, Kebele administrative officials, community leaders, Private Sector representatives, PIN and other (I)NGO staff.
Collaborate with project coordinator in planning, needs assessment/identification, proposal preparation, budgeting, monitoring, reporting
Actively participate in the procurement process such as preparation of specification for items to be procured under the project, inspection of material during delivery time
Attaining the adequate results in proper quality and in time and meeting all deadlines
Assure that all visibility material and events are in accordance with the donor and PIN Guidelines
Maintaining smooth and professional relations with all project stakeholders
Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly plan and report specific to the post and submit to Project coordinator on time
Send to the Project coordinator on a timely basis, weekly plans and reports of activities achieved. The reports shall be submitted every Thursday morning and will contain a shortlist of activities achieved in the past week and activities planned for the next week.
COORDINATION
Participate in and facilitate different awareness raising community meetings, campaigns and events in collaboration with Project Coordinators and PjM
Actively collaborates with PIN’s other ongoing project team members in the project operation areas
DOCUMENTATION
Document copies of every steps of project activities like list of beneficiaries, distribution list, agreement, attendances, minutes, bylaws, and any necessary documents;
Prepare the best practices and success stories; prepare photo documentations for the implementation of each project activities;
PLANNING AND REPORTING
Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly plans and reports specific to the position and submit to the Project Coordinator.
The reports and plans shall be submitted every Thursday morning and will contain a shortlist of activities achieved in the past week and activities planned for the next one
Prepare and share quality and professional reports on every training, workshop, meeting, campaign, experience sharing sessions, exposure visits and other project related events
Plan and submit weekly logistics and cash needs to the project Coordinator.
COMMUNICATION & NETWORKING
Organize and document beneficiaries’ profile and progress information and share to the project manager and team members in timely manner
Communicate regularly with project stakeholders and partners at kebele, zonal and woreda level
Ensure maintenance of good personal relations to beneficiaries, government staff, partners, project team and supervisor
MATERIAL DEVELOPMENT
Participate in different materials and guidelines development and revisions as needed/ necessary.
Facilitate the translation of relevant checklists and tools to Amharic and other local language when necessary
CONFIDENTIALITY
Keep all the confidential information of the organization as needed

TEAM BUILDING
Build and maintaining excellent personal, interpersonal, team sprit relations within the Project members, PIN staffs, community and other stakeholders

Perform other assignments corresponding to actual needs of the mission, program and project mission upon the request of line manager/CMT
Substitute other Project Coordinators during absence or as assigned by the Project Manager
Understand and adhere to overall PIN code of conducts, policies, guidelines and manual
Understand and Adhere to all donor’s and PIN’s guidelines and policies, with special focus on safeguarding and protection policies
ACCOUNCOUNTABILITY AND SAFEGUARDING including Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (SEAH)
• Carry out the duties in accordance with the PIN Code of Conduct and Key policies.
• Participate in training and awareness raising (CoC and KP, Safeguarding…).
• Implement Safeguarding measures throughout the project cycle including a risk analysis related to SEAH and Child protection for each project and develop a mitigation plan accordingly.
• Ensure that his/her team members attend training and awareness sessions and carry out the duties in accordance with PIN Code of Conduct and Key policies.
• Ensure that due diligence and/or capacity assessments of partners include an assessment of partners’ implementation of key safeguarding and risk policies/ procedure including the prevention of SEAH.
• Create and maintain a fulfilling and protective environment.

PIN is a relief and development organization whose aim is to help and assist needy people. The Employee’s position within the institution requires contacts with outside; he or she therefore conveys a certain image of the PIN. PIN expects its Employees to behave in appropriate manners at all times and in all places. All members of staff should ensure their attitudes correspond to PIN principles, both during and after working hours.
The Employee takes over the responsibility for all entrusted material or cash. The Employee is obligated to cover all damages or losses caused by his carelessness. The Agreement of Liability of Assets has been signed separately.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education & TVETs development, Sociology, Social work, Partnership Development, Rural Development, Business Administration/Developmental economics, Economics, Market systems development, Food Security and rural development business administration, or other related field
3-5 years Experience in, EU Project, stakeholders management and engagement, strategic planning, management, reporting, government authorities & partner NGOs, partnership development, coordination with various stakeholders, forums, clusters, etc.
Good communication and capacity to work under stress
Knowledge of spoken & written Amharic and English
