To ensure the continuous improvement of process and product quality by providing technical advice and facilitating problem solving and decision making in order to drive quality assurance in the value chain
Apply known principles, methods and techniques of chemistry and develop an appropriate controlling procedures
The Chemist/QC Technician has to manage the quality control of the raw materials/ingredients, production processes as well as the products throughout the production operations and check all the quality parameters at the required frequency and to be proactively involved in the promotion and implementation of good blowing, filling and packaging practices in all production processes
Perform chemical analyses water, ingredients, raw materials, intermediate products and tests on input, work in process and final products.
Follows and supervises the water treatment plants for raw water, bottled water, utility water, cooling plant ,reject water quality & boiler in feed water
Checks and determines the amount of chemicals/raw materials/filters to be added in water treatment plants used for cleaning filling, downstream packaging and for CIP system
Inspect inputs work-in-process and final product for conformance to the established standards.
Prepares and standardizes reagents used for checking work-in-process and final product
Ensures chemicals/filters used for water treatments changed periodically
The Chemist/QC Technician is the 1st support of the Quality Control and System Manager, in order to produce high quality of products in the most efficient manner.
Ensures chemicals/filters used for water treatments changed periodically
Specify the amount of chemical to be used for water treatment, boiler and cooling plant
Ensures expired chemicals are not used for the water treatments
Ensures the proper handling of raw materials, chemicals and finished products
Selects, segregate the expired or substandard products and follows the proper disposal of expired or sub-standard products
The Chemist/QC Technician has to report all the issues to the Quality Control and System Manager (manufacturing and quality).
The Chemist/QC Technician has to respect the Quality Control and System Manager directives
The Chemist/QC Technician has to record the KPI’s as per Quality Control and System Manager directives
Recording analysing and interpreting data for all physic- chemical analyses
Always keep clean your quality monitoring devices and working areas.
Perform other related duties as may required
DECISION MAKING POWERS AND AUTHORITIES
Can stop packaging in case of faulty machine, or quality parameters going out of spec
Can correct any incorrect manufacturing practice
Reject non-conforming products
Can reject substandard raw materials and packaging materials
Implement measures to avoid future quality problems
Expected to run packaging department in the absence of Quality Control Manager
Job Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Food Technology Working experiences in HACCP/ISO 22000:2005 certified Food Processing Industries, especially in Quality Control. Mini: 3 year experience
