Job Description

The job holder  will oversee the quality assurance and quality control processes within the alcoholic beverage company, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The role involves leading the implementation and maintenance of the Integrated Management System (IMS) certified in ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management). The Quality Manager will work closely with production, regulatory affairs, and supply chain teams to ensure product quality and safety while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Management System (QMS) Oversight:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.

  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with established quality standards.

2. Quality Assurance Control:

  • Establish and monitor quality assurance protocols for raw materials, production processes, and finished products.

  • Oversee laboratory testing of products to ensure they meet regulatory and company standards.

  • Investigate product non-conformities and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

3. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations governing alcoholic beverages, including labeling, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and standards.

4. Training Development:

  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff on quality standards, practices, and procedures.

  • Foster a culture of quality awareness throughout the organization.

5. Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in quality processes, waste reduction, and environmental sustainability.

  • Utilize statistical analysis and other quality tools to identify areas for improvement.

6. Documentation Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of quality metrics, audit results, and compliance activities.

  • Prepare reports for management regarding quality performance, trends, and improvement initiatives.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with production, RD, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment on quality objectives.

  • Serve as the point of contact for quality-related issues within the organization.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Manager) is a plus.

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quality management within the food or beverage industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

  • Proven experience in implementing and maintaining ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements specific to alcoholic beverages is highly desirable.

• Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across departments.

  • Proficient in quality management software and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean methodologies).

• Personal Attributes:

  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and safety.

  • Ability to lead teams and influence change within the organization.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Working Conditions:

  • The role may require occasional travel to suppliers or other company locations.

  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment where safety protocols are paramount
