Job Summary:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) provides strategic and operational leadership for the hospital, ensuring delivery of high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth. This role is responsible for executing strategic plans, overseeing daily operations, and driving innovative programs to position the hospital as a leader in healthcare services and research.
The COO will lead a multidisciplinary team, ensure compliance with healthcare standards, and foster a culture of service excellence while achieving financial and operational targets.
The COO will be responsible for for achievement of annual budget and growth of the organisation and building an operations and consultant’s team aligned with the overall objective of the group.
Implementing business operations at organization
Establishing policies that promote organization culture and vision
Overseeing operations of the organization Implement clinical pathways and policy
Develop clinical program in coordination with the Med Director
Identifying the clinical talent for the clinical program
Strategy & Planning
Stays updated with general trade and industry conditions and their potential impact on organization’s policies and operations and, assists the President in developing the short-term and long-term strategic plan for organization and its offered services
Participates in the development and implementation of the Strategic, Financial and Human Resource Planning process for the entity
Translates system, regional, hospital and service line initiatives into action plans at the hospital and departmental level with appropriate performance measures.
Performs risk assessment and mitigation
Identifies current and potential risks to organization operations and quality control, which may adversely cost targets and legal compliances
Drives risk mitigation plans
Devices and guides the units in implementing the best practices to maintain and reinforce the organization’s leadership position in the industry
Builds positive image of the organization to external and internal customers by representing brand value preposition
Customer
Assures premier customer satisfaction. Implements mechanisms and feedback processed to determine customer satisfaction levels.
Creates an environment in which effective communication and responsiveness to customer needs are personal priorities. Provides timely resolution and response to customer complaints, concerns and suggestions.
Facilitates interaction between physicians and staff to strengthen relationship and team building
Financial
Prepares the Annual Operation Plan (AOP) in consultation with respective stakeholders
Assumes fiscal responsibility through budgetary planning and implementation
Ensure effective utilization of the organization resources
Spearheads the design, marketing, promotion and service delivery efforts to build the organization brand
Conducts or oversees the negotiation of professional, consultant and service contracts
Operational
Devises and implements practices to integrate organization with other operational entities
Recruits consultants and supporting medical staff for smooth medical delivery
Takes process improvement initiatives along with clinical and operational departments, by setting up Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies
Leads digitization and process optimization efforts to make organization filmless & paperless
Monitors the daily, weekly and monthly MIS to record progress and promote problem solving
Ensures that policies and practices effectively support sound and safe patient care, and that the delivery of healthcare services provides the highest level of a positive experience to the patient.
Spearheads new initiatives relating to enhanced patient experience
Monitors and reviews all patient related services to ensure high degree of patient satisfaction
People
Instills and channelizes people orientation, reinforces the belief that people are the key in achieving organizational objectives and focuses on people development driving employee satisfaction
Reviews the schemes, programs and plans pertaining to Human Resources
Ensures human resource policies are enforced and administered consistently without favoritism or discriminatory influence
Coaches team members by providing feedback relating to learning new competencies and appreciates their uniqueness and motivates them
Oversees training and development of the staff to enhance customer experience and in line with overall growth of the organization

Qualification : Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
Preferred: Certification in healthcare leadership (e.g., FACHE or equivalent)
Experience : 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in hospital or healthcare operations.
Minimum 5 years in a senior operational role managing medium to large hospitals (50-100 beds) or multi-specialty centers.
