Job Description
The position provides comprehensive technical support for the financial management of donor-funded grants and sponsorships. S/he ensures compliance with internal policies and donor regulations while ensuring budget planning, forecasting, income recognition, financial reporting, compliance monitoring, and capacity building for Plan staff and partners. The role also supports in improving cost recovery, stakeholder communication, and financial sustainability.
Key responsibilities include ensuring donor compliance, taking timely actions, accurate budget coding and expenditure posting, guiding cost utilization, and managing grant planning and closure. The role requires proactive problem-solving, delivering contextualized solutions, and mitigating risks identified through spot checks to maintain project continuity.

Safeguarding Children and Program Participants (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)
Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed per the appropriate procedures.
Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understand their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Program Participants and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.
Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Grant Management, preferably in an NGO setting, out of which 3 years on a senior level
Sound analytical and problem-solving capability;
Ability to influence others’ behaviour through effective relationship building; thorough current knowledge and understanding of relevant policies, frameworks, etc.
Strong knowledge of financial systems (SAP), policies, and procedures, and advanced Excel skills
Knowledge and experience of donor grants of diverse institutional donors (EU, US funding, ECHO, UN Agencies, GFFO, FCDO, etc.)
Proficient in financial reporting.
Fluency in the English language is essential
