Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Controlling the preparation of monthly financial reports (income and loss statements, Balance sheets, cash flow statements in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) as per group reporting timelines.

  • Comply with monthly Group & Local reporting requirements in terms of different operational and performance related reports to be prepared and compiled and submitted on timely manner. Including but not limited to Console Pack, BS, BR, Executive Summary, Singapore/local weekly reports, sales report, vendor report, customer reports etc

  • Ensure timely preparation of annual financial statements audited by external auditor and reached to Company executive team and other external stakeholders as per local regulatory requirements and group reporting time lines.

  •  Ad hoc reports to management team from time to time on various areas to closely monitor them.

  •  Reviewing of the weekly, monthly, quarterly & annual reports prepared by each finance division and submission of those reports timely to the CFO & GM.

  • Ensuring the department managers are working with Group IT team for updating profitability portal for reviewing on time reports on the portal and or Business Intelligence reports.

  • Filing of the month end / year end returns to the authorities timely. 

  • Ensuring Transfer pricing documents are duly filled up and reported to the authorities before the due date

  • Oversees effective implementation of Company financial policies and procedures; ensure controls over financial policies and procedures, and relevant Government regulations are understood and duly observed by all concerned.

  • Ensures all legally required taxes are reported and paid on time.

  • Ensures that all receivables and other incomes are collected on time.

  • Ensure all vendor related matters are duly reported and aging prepared periodically and reviewed. 

  • Ensures that adequate finance is available to accomplish the daily operational activities and to meet Company’s financial obligations to internal and external stakeholders. 

  •   Constantly review the Trial Balance for checking controls over the figures reported in Balance Sheet and P&L.

  • Authorization of payments as per company payment process and procedures.

  • Ensures that timely actions are taken with regards to observation of auditors.

  • Ensure control environment is maintained consistently and where process/control weakness is identified, corrective actions are taken promptly and reported as per group reporting guidelines

  • Ensuring the working capital availability for project investment in liaison with the Treasury & AR Manager based on the expected cashflow report.

  • Ensuring the revolving budget is prepared quarterly so that the management is timely aware to take quick decisions.

  • Review the performance with actual results and take corrective actions proactively to meet the overall target by the end of the financial year.

  • Establishes close relationships with banks in matters related to forex allocation, currency hedging, requesting for credit lines (i.e. overdraft, term loans, Letter of Credit margin facility etc.), saving and current accounts. 

  • Establishes close relationships with Tax Authorities in matters related to periodic tax reports, payment of taxes, custom issues etc.

  • Reviewing in detail the consumption of material and overhead expenses against the standard costing. Discussing with Manager Costing, Budgeting & AP on reasons for the variation and reporting it timely to the GM & CFO. 

  • Continuous monitoring of cost data, standard data and margin analysis for on time decision making by the top management.

  • In cooperation with HRD recruit and select finance staff.   

  • Periodically conducts performance appraisal of subordinates and staff to identify performance gaps or outstanding performance and take appropriate action. 

  • In cooperation with HRD develops and designs training program to enhance their skills in performing their duties. 

  • Provides direction and resources, removing barriers and helping develop people’s skills; articulating expectations and clarifying roles and relationships.

  • Attend to employee grievances and take corrective action in a timely manner in coordination with HR.

  • Foster an environment that supports an engaged safety and quality culture.

  • Maintained a SAFE ZONE to employees by ensuring all hazards are identified, reported and removed.

  • Report all unsafe conditions, near misses and unsafe behaviors.

  • Reported all accidents and incidents.

  • Engaged with employees continuously through safety talk to create awareness

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • BA 12 years or MBA / MA 10 years or ACCA qualified with 8 years relevant experience of which at least 3 years as Finance Manager/Director or equivalent capacity at manufacturing company. 

  • Hands-on experience on SAP and in depth knowledge in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) and its application.

  • Good knowledge of the Ethiopian Tax regulation
