Shamida Bright Vision Children's Welfare Association, a local NGO dedicated to uplifting the lives of orphaned children and vulnerable women, is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Researcher to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview
Researcher will play a crucial role by providing evidence-based insights to inform our programs, assess needs, guide strategies, and measure impact. Your work will help us better serve our beneficiaries and continuously improve our interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design research studies including experiments, surveys, or qualitative inquiries.

  • Collect data using appropriate methodologies, field surveys or data mining, depending on the discipline.

  • Conduct field research and data collection related to children’s welfare and women’s empowerment.

  • Design and implement surveys, interviews, and focus groups with program participants and partners.

  • Analyze data quantitatively and qualitatively with statistical tools to draw valid conclusions.

  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to assess needs, evaluate programs, and identify trends.

  • Prepare research proposals, reports, and disseminate results to stakeholders, funders, or the public.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of research activities and data.

  • Prepare clear reports and presentations for internal teams, stakeholders, and donors.

  • Collaborate and provide constructive feedback with other researchers or teams.

  • Uphold ethical standards including honesty, objectivity, integrity, confidentiality, and humane treatment of subjects.

  • Manage research resources efficiently, including budgets and schedules.

  • Comply with institutional policies, legal regulations, and funding requirements.

  • Support grants proposals with robust evidence and literature reviews.

  • Find and identify research grants relevant to the organization and its projects.

  • Work collaboratively with program staff to ensure research aligns with our mission and objectives.

  • Stay up-to-date with sector best practices, academic literature, and relevant policy developments.

  • Engage in continuous professional development and communicate career goals effectively.

  • Advocate and promote research findings to policymakers or the broader community to facilitate application of findings.

  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

  • Perform tasks given by their supervisors.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field with a 7 years and 5 years’ experience consecutively.

  • Demonstrated experience in social research, monitoring & evaluation, or NGO program assessment.

  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills; proficiency in research software (e.g., SPSS, NVivo, Excel).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

  • Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a passion for children’s and women’s rights.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural team.
