East African Mining Co. Plc, a subsidiary of East African Holding SC, is looking for an experienced and diligent Senior Foreign Purchaser to manage the end-to-end process of international procurement and import operations. This role involves overseeing supplier relations, purchase execution, shipping logistics, customs procedures, and final delivery to our warehouse — ensuring cost-effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and timely operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage the complete procurement process from Proforma Invoice (PI) to final delivery, including contract review, shipping coordination, and customs clearance.

• Handle all Ethiopian customs procedures, including tariff classification, tax exemption processing (where applicable), and port clearance.

• Coordinate the opening of Letters of Credit (LCs) with banks and ensure compliance with National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) and Ethiopian Revenues and Customs Authority (ERCA) regulations.

• Collaborate with Ethiopian Shipping & Logistics Services Enterprise (ESLSE), freight forwarders, and clearing agents to ensure smooth logistics and cargo handling.

• Maintain clear, proactive communication with suppliers, freight agents, banks, clearing agents, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues swiftly.

• Track international shipments, address potential delays or documentation issues, and resolve non-conformities.

• Monitor procurement cost efficiency and provide regular reports on key procurement indicators, including landed costs.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in foreign purchasing and international procurement, preferably within manufacturing, construction, or industrial sectors.

• In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, customs clearance, and import/export procedures.

• Strong negotiation, analytical, and time management skills.

• Fluency in Amharic and English (spoken and written).
