The cost accountant will be reporting to the senior cost accountant and will support in controlling inventory and costs across all business units and construction projects. This role makes sure stock is used properly, records are accurate, and costs are tracked correctly on a timely basis. The Cost Accountant supports the senior accountant in the cost accounting section by keeping accurate and timely records.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Inventory Tracking

• Keep records of all stock movements between warehouses, stores, and business units

• Check stock transfers, returns, and adjustments

• Make sure inventory is valued correctly using average cost

• Record stock received and used in the system (ERP), making sure it matches the fiscal count

Surprise Stock Checks

• Do random checks and regular counts to compare actual stock with records

• Reports if there are differences and works with store teams to fix issues

• Stock control and follow up on changes

• Keep clear records of all counts and corrections for audits

Cost Reconciliation & Reporting

• Match physical stock counts with financial records and report any differences

• Prepare monthly cost reports and help with closing financial records

• Analyze losses, old stock, and waste to show how they affect finances

Cost Allocation & Budget Support

• Assign costs to the right departments, projects, and business units

• Keep updated records of item costs

Documentation & Compliance

• Keep organized records for stock movements, counts, cost changes, and approvals

• Make sure all work follows company policies, and accounting rules are strictly followed

• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual books of accounts closing.

Teamwork & Support

• Work with supply chain, warehouse, and finance teams to fix cost issues

• Help the Senior Cost Accountant prepare reports for audits and management reports

• Reconcile records with warehouses 

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in cost control, & inventory management

• Experience in a factory or construction company is highly preferred
