Job Description
The Senior Tender Officer plays a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the preparation, submission, and coordination of bids and tenders within a logistics or freight forwarding environment. This position ensures compliance with customer requirements, pricing strategies, and organizational standards to secure profitable business opportunities.
Tender Management:
Lead the end-to-end tendering process, including reviewing RFQs, RFPs, and tender documents.
Coordinate with internal departments (operations, pricing, legal, finance, etc.) to gather necessary input.
Develop winning strategies in collaboration with sales and pricing teams.
Documentation & Submission:
Prepare high-quality, compliant, and competitive proposals and tender submissions.
Ensure all deadlines are met and submissions are in accordance with client specifications.
Costing & Pricing:
Analyze and develop pricing structures based on logistics costs, market rates, and profit margins.
Collaborate with procurement and pricing teams to source accurate rates from suppliers and partners.
Market & Competitor Analysis:
Monitor industry trends and competitor pricing.
Provide insights to improve bid quality and win rates.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
Ensure adherence to internal policies, client requirements, and industry regulations.
Maintain accurate records of all tenders, proposals, and bid documents.
Client Interaction & Relationship Management:
Liaise with clients during the tender process for clarification and negotiations.
Support the handover process to operations and ensure contractual obligations are clearly communicated.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
Minimum 4 and above years of experience in tendering, preferably in the logistics, freight forwarding, or transportation industry.
Strong understanding of pricing, freight terms (Incoterms), and logistics operations (air, sea, and land/road transport).
Experience working with global or regional tenders is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Attention to detail with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Analytical mindset and ability to interpret large sets of data.
