Job Description

Manages the plants financial operation, reviewing their financial performance and providing recommendations for financial planning. Working with plant management to optimize manufacturing processes, identify cost -reduction opportunities and enhance profitability.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with process owners to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce material extraction losses, and save energy.

    • Initiate business improvement and cost-saving activities, and validate assumptions of productivity improvement projects to bring tangible savings to the P&L.

    • Review supply chain master data to check accuracy of bill of materials, recipes, and purchase information records.

    • Analyze consumption of raw materials and packaging against the bill of materials and analyze and report the deviations from the standard.

    • Generate a monthly report on consumption of raw and packaging materials including chemical and stock movement of the plant. 

    • Monitor all open Purchase orders and purchase accounts on regular basis.

    • Ensure an LC cost sheet is prepared for all import purchases.

    • Collaborate with production and warehousing leaders to guarantee timely and accurate financial reporting.

    • Lead stock count of the plant, on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis and reconcile the inventories against the count and analysis of variance accounts

    • Manage adjustments, write-off, disposal of stock as per the procedure.

    • Work with Finance Manager and the team to monitor and implement plant internal controls as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets and identify risks. 

    • Developing and implementing best practice processes and systems across the group companies

    • Participates in the annual statutory and tax audits.

    • Any other tasks as required from time to time.

Job Requirements

Functional competency 

Functional knowledge of manufacturing finance, Inventory & cost accounting is a must with minimum 5 years of experience with FMCG background.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Experience: 

 MSc in Finance and Accounting/MBA / Qualified Accountant 

Greater than five years financial, supply chain & manufacturing experience in accounting/analytical roles with FMCG sector experience and experience of managing teams. 

Must have experience of: 

  • Business Performance evaluation 

    • Budgeting & Forecasting for multiple business units

    • Good internal/external communicator being able to build strong relationships, influencing and presenting at a senior level is desirable

    • Working experience in Ethiopia

    • Knowledge of local market environment & trends, government policy and regulatory requirements
