Job Description

Market Solutions Practice (MSP)

MSP corrects market failures by deploying Kifiya’s four core infrastructures—intelligent data & decisioning, intelligent financial services, digital agriculture, and smart mobility—to enable MSMEs, smallholder farmers, and low-to-middle-income individuals to access finance and markets. Our work drives job creation, social inclusion, and economic empowerment, making us a partner of choice for impact funders.

Program Overview: SAFEE Shared Facility

Under the Sustainable Access to Finance to Enable Entrepreneurship (SAFEE) program (a Kifiya–Mastercard Foundation partnership), the Shared Facility provides digital infrastructure and data-management tools to our Foundation partners. By unlocking $1.2 billion in liquidity through a 1:3 leverage model and declining guarantees, SAFEE empowers 477,861 youth‑ and women‑led MSMEs across Agriculture, Manufacturing, and Digital Entrepreneurship.

Position Summary

The Head of Trainings at Kifiya Financial Technologies leads the strategic development and implementation of customer-facing training programs—encompassing digital literacy, business skills, and responsible credit behavior—for both pre- and post-loan cohorts. In collaboration with the Training Department, Digital Training Marketplace team, and Customer Acquisition unit, you will ensure training initiatives support measurable improvements in knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP), driving behavior change that enhances digital adoption and loan repayment. This role places you at the center of Kifiya’s inclusive finance mission—empowering underserved MSMEs across Ethiopia and sub-Saharan Africa through high-impact capacity building linked to sustainable lending outcomes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Assessment & Planning

  • Conduct ongoing training-needs assessments for pre- and post-loan segments, identifying gaps in digital literacy, financial knowledge, and business acumen.

  • Develop a structured training calendar aligned with credit cycles and credit products (e.g., uncollateralized digital credit).

  • Set disaggregated KPIs (by gender, region, product) to ensure inclusive outreach and measurable impact.

2. Program Design & Delivery

  • Work closely with MSMES training Department in developing engaging, context-appropriate curricula for pre loan and post loan trainings

  • Collaborate with the Digital Training Marketplace Team to deliver content through both physical workshops and digital platforms (e‑learning, mobile, agent-based delivery).

  • Ensure content is localized and accessible to low-literacy and rural customer segments.

3. Impact Evaluation

  • Implement pre- and post-training Knowledge–Attitude–Practice (KAP) assessments to quantify learning gains and behavioral shifts.

  • Monitor behavioral outcomes (e.g. improved repayment, digital adoption) and integrate these insights with credit performance dashboards.

4. Quality Assurance & Implementation Oversight

  • Oversee training delivery quality—ensuring consistency, trainer competency, and participant engagement.

  • Coordinate with the Customer Acquisition Training Team to align logistics and timing of training with loan onboarding.

  • Conduct post-training follow‑ups or coaching visits to reinforce applied learning and support move from knowledge to practice.

5. Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Liaise with:

  • Customer Acquisition teams to synchronize training with onboarding cycles

  • Digital and analytics teams for platform deployment and monitoring

  • Product, Credit & Risk teams to ensure responsible lending companion training

  • Training Department to standardize methodologies and materials

  • Provide operational support in planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and participant tracking.

6. Monitoring, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Create dashboards and reports tracking participation metrics, KAP scores, dropout rates, and behavior-linked credit outcomes.

  • Present findings regularly to leadership and recommend iterative improvements to training content and delivery mechanisms.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s (preferably) in Business, Finance, Economics, Development Studies, or related field.

  • 8–10 years’ experience in program or partnership management—ideally in digital finance, fintech, MSME, or development programs.

  • Proven track record managing multi‑disciplinary teams and high‑value partnerships.

Technical & AI Skills

  • Preferably experienced in advanced data analysis (SQL, Excel, BI tools) to interpret AI‑driven insights and support decision‑making.

  • Proficient in leveraging AI/ML‑powered platforms for reporting, monitoring, and partner performance forecasting.

  • Familiarity with digital partnership tools (CRM/PRM) and automated data‑integration workflows.

  • Solid understanding of blended finance mechanisms and digital lending ecosystems.

Analytical & Data Skills
