Job Description
Lovegrass Agro-Processing Plc is looking for a results-driven Procurement Manager who will lead and optimize the company’s procurement. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for sourcing high-quality goods and services at competitive prices, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing to support business operations. The role also includes overseeing procurement policies and processes, managing contracts and negotiations, and ensuring compliance with company standards and relevant government regulations, including licenses and permits. The ideal candidate will contribute to building a strong operational foundation and promoting a culture of transparency, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the organization.
Forecast procurement needs based on operational requirements and budget allocations.
Prepare annual procurement plans and ensure timely execution.
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with local and international suppliers.
Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring quality and reliability.
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and pricing trends.
Lead transparent and competitive bidding processes in line with Ethiopian procurement regulations.
Draft, review, and manage contracts, ensuring legal and policy compliance.
Monitor contract performance and address deviations or breaches.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with Ethiopian laws, donor rules, and internal policies.
Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, bid evaluations, and vendor contracts.
Facilitate audits by maintaining proper documentation and responding to audit queries.
Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to align procurement with stock levels.
Monitor and report procurement budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Implement internal controls to minimize procurement-related risks.
Supervise procurement officers and provide coaching and performance evaluations.
Train staff on procurement policies and ethical sourcing practices.

Professional Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience, preferably in Food manufacturing, agriculture.
High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement systems (e.g., ERP, SAP, or similar is a plus).
Experience Required:
Minimum of 7 (Seven) years of proven experience in procurement, preferably in the FMCG, agro-processing, or manufacturing sector.
Experience working with HR software systems (Zoho People, BambooHR, monday.com HR and HR documentation practices.
Key Skill Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of Ethiopian procurement laws and procedures.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
Contract negotiation and vendor management
Risk management and compliance awareness
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
