Pulmonologist
Designation: Pulmonologist

The Pulmonologist will specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the respiratory system. This includes conditions of the lungs, bronchi, and pleura, with a focus on comprehensive patient management, diagnostic procedures, and respiratory care.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
Diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, pneumonia, tuberculosis, and interstitial lung diseases.
Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as bronchoscopy, lung function tests, and sleep studies.
Develop individualized treatment plans, including medication management, respiratory therapy, and oxygen therapy.
Manage patients requiring mechanical ventilation and critical respiratory support.
Provide consultation for patients with respiratory symptoms or conditions affecting other organ systems.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain thorough and accurate patient medical records.
Collaborate with thoracic surgeons, oncologists, and other specialists for multidisciplinary care.
Participate in departmental meetings, quality assurance programs, and clinical research if applicable.
Educational Duties:
Educate patients and their families on respiratory disease management, inhaler techniques, and lifestyle modifications.
Mentor junior medical staff and students on pulmonology topics.
Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated with advancements in respiratory medicine.
Minimum Requirements
Medical Doctor (MD) degree from a recognized institution.
Specialization in Pulmonology.
Valid professional license by the Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority (EFDA) or equivalent regulatory body in Ethiopia.
Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable post-specialization experience as a Pulmonologist.
Proficiency in bronchoscopy and interpretation of lung function tests.
Strong diagnostic and patient management skills
