Anesthesiologist
Designation: Anesthesiologist

The Anesthesiologist will be responsible for administering anesthesia for surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort. This includes pre-anesthetic evaluation, intra-operative management, and post-anesthetic care, in accordance with Ethiopian healthcare standards.
Clinical Duties:
Conduct thorough pre-anesthetic evaluations, including medical history review, physical examination, and assessment of patient fitness for anesthesia.
Develop and implement individualized anesthesia plans based on patient needs and surgical requirements.
Administer various types of anesthesia (general, regional, local) safely and effectively, monitoring vital signs and patient responses continuously.
Manage potential complications during and after anesthesia, providing immediate and appropriate interventions.
Oversee post-anesthetic recovery and pain management in the recovery room.
Maintain accurate and detailed anesthesia records.
Administrative Duties:
Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
Ensure proper functionality and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supplies.
Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement projects, and safety initiatives.
Educational Duties:
Provide guidance and supervision to junior medical staff, interns, and nurses regarding anesthesia practices.
Stay abreast of the latest advancements and best practices in anesthesiology through continuous professional development.
Minimum Requirements
Medical Doctor (MD) degree from a recognized institution.
Specialization in Anesthesiology.
Valid professional license by the Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority (EFDA) or equivalent regulatory body in Ethiopia.
Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable post-specialization experience as an Anesthesiologist.
Strong knowledge of patient safety protocols and emergency response.
Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
