The Project Manager will be responsible for leading the planning, execution, and operational rollout of our agricultural business project(Field & Office-based). This includes managing pilot farms, coordinating with farmer cooperatives, overseeing agro-processing trials, and ensuring supply chain readiness. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong organizational skills, and the ability to translate the Founder’s vision into actionable, measurable outcomes.
1. Project Planning & Execution
Develop and maintain a detailed implementation plan for the agricultural business.
Coordinate timelines, budgets, and deliverables across multiple operational areas (crop production, livestock, processing, logistics).
Ensure all activities align with strategic goals and feasibility study outcomes.
2. Operations & Supply Chain Oversight
Supervise the setup and operation of pilot farm sites (crop & livestock).
Oversee procurement of seeds, feed, fertilizers, tools, and other farm inputs.
Monitor supply chain efficiency from farm to processing to market.
3. Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with farmer cooperatives, private farmers, suppliers, government agencies, and NGOs.
Negotiate agreements and contracts with service providers and partners.
4. Team Leadership
Manage and supervise field staff and contractors engaged in farm and processing operations.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members.
5. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
Track project progress against KPIs (yields, costs, revenue targets, quality metrics).
Prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports for the Founder and potential investors.
Recommend adjustments to strategies based on results and market conditions.
6. Risk Management & Compliance
Identify operational risks (climate, political, market, supply chain disruptions) and propose mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with local agricultural, labor, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Project Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in agricultural project management, agribusiness operations, rural development, project management, and any relevant work experience.
Strong track record of managing multi-stakeholder agricultural projects from inception to completion.
Knowledge of Ethiopian agricultural sector, supply chains, and export requirements.
Experience with agro-processing and value chain development is a plus.
