Job Description

Job Title:  Accountant

Location: Addis Ababa

Type: Full time

Experience: 2-5 years

Overview: We are seeking a Accountant to join our growing team. This entry-level position will involve supporting the finance department with daily accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with invoicing and payroll, and preparing reports. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn and grow within the accounting field.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Payroll Assistance:

  • Assist with payroll processing by collecting employee time sheets and ensuring payroll records are up to date.

    • Help with the preparation of payroll reports and tax-related filings.

  • Inventory & Financial Recordkeeping:

    • Assist in tracking inventory levels and ensuring financial records are aligned with physical inventory.

    • Support monthly inventory reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.

  • Administrative & Miscellaneous:

    • Prepare and organize financial documents for audits and tax filings.

    • Assist in preparing tax returns and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws.

    • Provide general administrative support to the finance team as needed.

    • Help with ad hoc accounting tasks and reports as required.

    • Assist in reconciling bank statements 

    • Assist with the preparation of financial statements, reports, and monthly closing entries.

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions, including purchases, sales, payments, and receipts.

  • Invoicing & Accounts

    • Prepare and issue invoices to customers for products sold.

    • Assist in managing accounts receivable, ensuring payments are collected on time.

    • Process incoming bills, track payment schedules, and ensures timely payments to suppliers.

    • Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance(or in progress).

  • A basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software peachtree is a plus.

  • Basic knowledge of tax regulations and payroll processes is a bonus

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
