Job Description

LonAdd HR Consultancy, a leading provider of recruitment, outsourcing, training, and HR advisory services in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, is seeking a Finance Director. We are looking for a qualified candidate to lead our financial strategy and operations.

The Finance Director will be a strategic and proactive leader responsible for managing all financial operations and providing expert advice on the company's financial health and strategic direction. This role requires strategic financial leadership, strong industry knowledge, and the ability to align financial strategies with client-driven service models, with a strong growth mindset. 

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Develop and implement financial strategies that support the company’s business objectives in the HR Service industry.

  • Partner with the CEO and senior leadership to drive business expansion and optimize service profitability.

  • Provide financial insights to influence pricing models, service packages, and long-term contracts with clients.

2. Financial Planning & Reporting

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.

  • Oversee all daily accounting functions, ensuring timely and accurate recording of financial transactions, proper coding, and expense classification.

  • Lead month-end and annual closings, reconciliations, and payroll processing.

  • Oversee preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports in line with regulatory standards.

  • Monitor key financial metrics such as revenue per client, payroll processing margins, and client retention profitability.

3. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws, labor regulations, and client contractual obligations.

  • Oversee internal controls to safeguard company and client funds.

  • Mitigate risks related to payroll management, benefits administration, and client fund handling.

  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation and submission of reports to regulators like the Ethiopian Revenue & Customs Authority (ERCA) and stakeholders.

  • Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external audits, coordinating all necessary documentation and responding to findings.

4. Client & Contract Financial Management

  • Support Business development and account management teams in financial aspects of client contracts.

  • Advise on pricing strategies for HR outsourcing services (e.g., payroll processing, benefits administration, recruitment outsourcing).

  • Ensure timely invoicing and client payment collection to maintain positive cash flow.

5. Cost Control & Expense Management

  • Implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality.

  • Approve expenditures and ensure adherence to company policies.

6. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to maintain high accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.

  • Foster collaboration between finance, operations, and client service teams.

  • Conduct performance appraisals and provide technical support and capacity-building training.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience 

  • Bachelor's of Art or master’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA/ACCA preferred).

  • 10+ years of financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in private sector (service sector preferred).

  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

  • Proficiency in financial software (like SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or Excel (advanced level).

  • Language Requirements: Fluency in written and verbal English and Amharic is essential.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and time management skills. 

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
