Endocrinologist
Designation: Endocrinologist

The Endocrinologist will specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the endocrine system, including hormones, metabolism, and related conditions like diabetes, thyroid disorders, and hormonal imbalances. This role involves comprehensive patient assessment, diagnostic interpretation, and long-term management of chronic endocrine diseases.
Clinical Duties:
Evaluate patients with symptoms related to hormonal imbalances, metabolic disorders, and gland dysfunctions.
Diagnose and manage a wide range of endocrine conditions, including diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders (hypo/hyperthyroidism), adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, osteoporosis, and reproductive hormone issues.
Order and interpret specialized endocrine tests and imaging studies.
Develop individualized treatment plans, including medication management, insulin therapy, and lifestyle modifications.
Provide patient education on self-management of chronic endocrine conditions.
Collaborate with other specialists (e.g., ophthalmologists, nephrologists, cardiologists) for comprehensive care of complex endocrine patients.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records for endocrine conditions.
Participate in departmental meetings and quality improvement initiatives related to endocrine care.
Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines for endocrine management.
Educational Duties:
Educate patients and their families on endocrine disorders, treatment adherence, and preventative strategies.
Stay updated with advancements in endocrinology, including new medications and treatment approaches.
Minimum Requirements
Medical Doctor (MD) degree from a recognized institution.
Specialization in Endocrinology.
Valid professional license by the Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority (EFDA) or equivalent regulatory body in Ethiopia.
Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable post-specialization experience as an Endocrinologist.
Strong knowledge of hormone physiology, metabolism, and related disorders.
Excellent patient counseling and chronic disease management skills
