Pharmacist

The Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing pharmaceutical care, and ensuring safe and effective drug therapy for patients. This role involves managing pharmacy operations, counseling patients, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize medication use.
Roles & Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
Dispense prescription medications accurately and safely, ensuring correct dosage, labeling, and patient instructions.
Review patient medication profiles for drug interactions, allergies, contraindications, and appropriate dosing.
Provide comprehensive medication counseling to patients, explaining proper use, potential side effects, and storage.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to optimize medication regimens and resolve drug-related problems.
Compound medications as needed according to established procedures.
Participate in medication reconciliation processes to prevent errors.
Administrative Duties:
Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications, ensuring proper storage conditions.
Maintain accurate records of dispensed medications and controlled substances.
Ensure compliance with all Ethiopian pharmacy laws, regulations, and hospital policies.
Contribute to the development and implementation of pharmacy policies and procedures, including formulary management.
Oversee and train pharmacy technicians and support staff.
Educational Duties:
Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and patients.
Stay updated with new medications, therapeutic guidelines, and pharmaceutical advancements through continuous professional development.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from a recognized institution.
Valid professional license by the Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority (EFDA) or equivalent regulatory body in Ethiopia.
Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable experience as a practicing Pharmacist in a hospital or clinical setting.
Strong knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and therapeutics.
Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and patient-focused communication abilities.
