Job Title: Contract Radiologist for USAID URBAN TB LON II

Reports to: USAID Urban TB LON II Senior Community Advisor

Contract Term: Deliverable-Based Short-Term Contract

Salary Scale: Based on proposed rate/film  submitted during application by candidate

REACH Ethiopia is a nonprofit organization registered as an Ethiopian Residents Charity, dedicated to community development through innovative projects. Since 2013, it has implemented community-based TB care and integrated health service projects in Sidama, Central Ethiopia, South Ethiopia, Tigray, parts of Oromia and Afar Regions. Currently, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Regional Health Bureaus, REACH Ethiopia is implementing various projects including new project called USAID- Urban TB LON-II. 

The USAID URBAN TB LON II Project is an ambitious initiative aimed at addressing the urban tuberculosis (TB) challenge in Ethiopia. Focused on the city administrations of Addis Ababa, Shaggar, Harar, and Dire Dawa and national TB hot spot areas in 8 zones across four regions: Oromia, Sidama, Central Ethiopia and South Ethiopia. The project's primary goals include identifying missed TB cases, delivering patient-centered care, and fostering innovative solutions to combat TB. This project is pivotal in enhancing TB detection and treatment, with an overarching aim to reduce TB prevalence and mortality in urban environments.

Position Summary: The radiologist will play a crucial role in assisting the TB program at USAID Urban TB LON II implementation sites. They will read X-rays captured during field activities and assist in diagnosing clinical TB for PHCUs where radiologist access is unavailable. This will aid in the diagnosis of TB in the community and halt its spread. 

Major and overall Duties and Responsibilities: 

Technical assistance

As part of the Project team, the Radiologist  will: 

  • Read X-ray films of patients and report same day when provided by the Senior Advisor/ TB care officers/ city coordinators.

  •  Ensure accurate and timely interpretation of portable X-ray images and provide clear diagnostic reports for clinical decision-making.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Liscenced Senior Radiologist with at least 3 years experience in the field;

  • Gross payment proposal per film in one page &

  • Summary of relevant work experience
