Job Description

Ethiopian National Association of the Blind (ENAB) is the first Organization for Peoples with disabilities in Ethiopia. Since its establishment, ENAB works more than 65 years for the realization of the right for people with Visual impairments. ENAB is collaborating and networking with many local and international organizations towards this objective. ENAB is looking for qualified candidates to fill the following position.

Position: Personal Assistant

Location: Bahirdar and Wolaita Sodo

No of Position:

Reports to: Regional Coordinators

Duration: One year contract with a possibility of extension

Salary Range: Gross monthly salary of ETB 5,000.00 plus ETB 1,500.00 Transport allowance.

Purpose of the Job: To serve as a Personal Assistant of employees with disabilities in order for them to function successfully.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Filing or manipulating paper documents

  • Retrieving work materials that are out of reach

  • Accompanying an employee in and around the office

  • Accompanying an employee on workshops/meetings in and outside of the office

  • Providing travel assistance (field travel) for an employee during work related travel

  • Reading handwritten mail or hardcopy material to the employee with a visual disability

  • Converting inaccessible texts into accessible format

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

About the Applicant

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Diploma (Level IV Certificate) in any Social Science Studies.

  • 0 years of experience 

  • Volunteering experience working as Personal Assistant, Secretarial Service or Office management is an advantage 

  • Commitment and willingness to work with persons with disabilities.

  • Good Computer Skills

  • Knowledge of Amharic is required. 

  • For Applicants applying for Wolaita Sodo position knowledge of wolaita language is mandatory.

Required Skills.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Excellent typing, note-taking, and report-writing skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and internet browsing.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Trustworthy, patient, empathetic, and respectful.
