Job Summary

The Senior Accountant   role is responsible for  Recording financials transactions, Journal entries, Posting , AR/AP processing, conduct bank reconciliations, ledger and  undertake monthly and annual financial statements and closing processes

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

• Maintain general ledger and journal entries

• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes 

• Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures

• Oversee daily accounting activities and cash management

• Ensure timely payment of taxes, and compliance with tax regulations

• Conduct internal audits and assist with external audits

• Coordinate with banks, suppliers, and government bodies

• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Perform other finance-related tasks as assigned.

Term of Employment: for three months fixed term contract 

Salary: Negotiable and Very attractive

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• Education: BA in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, or related field

• 6 -10 years in accounting, with at least 1 year  in Import and Export Company.

• Excellent knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Peachtree, ERP systems, IFRS)

• Proven experience as an accounting supervisor, chief or senior accountant

• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures

• In-depth understanding of GAAP

• Familiarity with financial accounting statements/reports

• Good Experience with general ledger , journal , posting functions and the month-end/year-end close process

• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
