Job Description

The Center for Evaluation and Development (C4ED) Group is dedicated to promoting smart development solutions through the integration of investments and expertise. To assess the effectiveness of development programs and projects we use rigorous evaluation methods, selected and conducted by a team of experts according to the field of focus. 

The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, processing transactions, preparing financial reports, and supporting audits. The incumbent must ensure all financial activities comply with the organization’s policies and relevant regulations. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions in accordance with accounting standards. 

  • Maintain general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll records. 

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly financial reports as required. 

  • Prepare Monthly Staff Payroll for all projects  

  • Prepare Payments for Data Collectors Per diem  

  • Prepare Cash Payment Vouchers for all Bank Payments 

  • Prepare Petty Cash Payments for Payments made from cash on hand 

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis. 

  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial records. 

  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies. 

  • Support internal and external company administrative processes. 

  • Ensure compliance with donor financial guidelines and reporting schedules. 

  • Monitor and manage cash flow and petty cash. 

  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and statutory filings. 

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor. 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 

  • 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance. 

  • Knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting. 

  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or others). 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Good organizational and time management abilities. 

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail. 

  • Experience working with NGOs or donor-funded projects is an asset.

    Duration and Contract Terms 

  • This position is offered as a 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension based on the availability of funding and satisfactory performance. The selected candidate is expected to start as early as possible.
