Job Description
MSD is a non-profit, civic society organization founded in 1999 to combat the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Since then, MSD works to strengthen the socio-economic development of the wider community, and the nation at large. Working with partners and stakeholders, MSD advance the voice of citizens and community structures in service delivery, identifying priority needs, provide support and services to target groups with education, skills and promote opportunity to get along with assets. Aligned to its vision, mission and strategic objectives, MSD has been working in different development, emergency and humanitarian endeavors including HIV Prevention, care and support, Orphan and vulnerable children (OCV) care and support, Sexual and Reproductive health (SRH),Family Planning (FP), Gender Based Violence (GBV), migration, child protection and environmental protection. Through these technical area and services, it reached different hard to reach target groups including early married girls, GBV survivor, OVCs, refugees, PLHA, commercial sex workers and their clients, waitresses, long truck drivers, CSOs, CBOs and the community. At community level, the organization works with community members and community based social service providing institutions, schools, health facilities, government line offices, marginalized groups and professional associations.

Position: Project Mobile Casher
Reports to: Project Coordinator
Location: Debrebrehan
Salary: Negotiable subject to organizational salary scale and project budget
Required Number: 1 (one)

Term of Employment: Contract
A project mobile cashier manages daily cash transactions at a project site, handling petty cash, documenting all payments, reconciling cash with records, supporting the project and admin teams, and assisting with basic procurement and inventory tasks. The role requires meticulous record-keeping, strong attention to detail, and the ability to perform administrative and financial tasks in both an office and field environment.
Receives cash and checques on a pre-numbered cash receipt voucher of MSD
Oversee and manage the daily flow of petty cash, ensuring all transactions are properly authorized and recorded.
Prepare and file payment vouchers, deposit slips, and other financial forms, ensuring accuracy and proper authorization.
Maintain accurate daily cash books and financial records using designated systems Perform daily, weekly, or periodic cash counts and reconcile them against the cash records.
Submit regular financial reports to supervisors and the central finance unit, as required.
Assist the finance and administration team with minor administrative tasks and support procurement processes.
Pay all government related taxes and other related obligation on time.
Coordinate with the bank for deposits, withdrawals, and other necessary transactions.
Settles organization’s utility expenses monthly
Assist with stock management and maintain inventory registers, tracking the issuance and receipt of materials.
Travel to field locations to support project implementation sites and work closely with field teams.
Education/Training
Certificate (Level 2) in Accounting or related field.
Experience
2 and above year of work experience in relevant field.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Attention to Detail: Crucial for accurate transaction processing and record-keeping.
Basic Arithmetic & Financial Literacy: Necessary for managing cash and balancing transactions.
Organizational Skills: For maintaining organized filing systems and managing cash flow.
Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency in using spreadsheets and database systems for recording data.
Flexibility & Adaptability: Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments.
Integrity: Essential for handling project funds responsibly.
Communication Skills: To coordinate effectively with project and finance
Required Skills: Communication, time management, partnership and networking, PCM, problem solving, Coordination, report writing, adaptive management, and Microsoft Office.
