Job Description

A Transport Sales Manager is responsible for maintaining and generating third-party transportation business, which may include managing sales related to retail, wholesale, and specialized transport products like propane or asphalt. They focus on developing and nurturing client relationships, negotiating contracts, identifying new business opportunities, and driving revenue growth in the transportation sector.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic & Managerial

  • Develop and implement strategic marketing and sales plans for the transport sales team.

  • Head-hunt, recruit, and train sales professionals.

  • Plan sales targets, monitor performance, and ensure achievement of company goals.

  • Create innovative strategies to maximize sales growth and market share.

Customer Relationship & Business Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers; regularly engage to understand and meet their transport needs.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company’s customer base

  • Negotiate competitive rates and services with customers and carriers to ensure profitability.

  • Analyze market trends and customer data for pricing, service improvements, and growth strategies.

Operational & Compliance

  • Collaborate with internal teams (dispatch, operations, and finance) to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and contractual obligations.

  • Provide exceptional customer service and resolve issues promptly.

  • Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts, and performance reports.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Marketing & Sales, Business, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5–10 years in transportation sales, logistics, or related industries.

  • Strong leadership and proven track record in developing sales strategies and leading teams
