Job Description

The Key Account Specialist (Chinese Speaking) at East African National Distribution SC, a subsidiary of East African Holding Sc.and a strategic partner of National Cement, is responsible for managing and growing relationships with strategically important customers, including Chinese partners and suppliers. The role ensures customer satisfaction, smooth communication, accurate order execution, and the achievement of sales and revenue targets. This position requires fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) to facilitate effective communication with Chinese lead stakeholders.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Account Management

  • Act as the primary contact for assigned key customers, with emphasis on Chinese accounts.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.

  • Understand customer needs, business models, and purchase behavior.

2. Sales and Revenue Growth

  • Support in achieving sales targets and growth objectives from assigned accounts.

  • Identify new business opportunities and upselling possibilities within accounts.

  • Work with marketing to design and implement account-specific promotions.

3. Order & Service Coordination

  • Ensure timely processing and follow-up of orders, coordinating with logistics and dispatch.

  • Track deliveries and address customer concerns quickly and effectively.

  • Provide bilingual (Chinese–English/Amharic) support for order communication.

4. Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate account activity, sales volume, and customer interaction records.

  • Prepare regular reports on performance, customer satisfaction, and competitor activity.

  • Translate and prepare key documents/reports between Chinese and English as required.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with Finance on payment follow-up and credit issues.

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain for product availability.

  • Support Management in negotiations with Chinese clients and partners.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, or related field.

  • Experience: Minimum 2–4 years of experience in sales, key account management, or international client relations (FMCG, construction materials, or distribution industry preferred).

  • Languages:

    • Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) is required.

    • Strong communication in English and Amharic.

  • Skills:

    • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.

    • Strong organizational and reporting ability.

    • Ability to handle multiple priorities under pressure.

    • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/CRM systems.
