About Rehabilitation and Development Organization (RaDO)
Rehabilitation and Development Organization (RaDO) is a National NGO working on the area of Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS, Gender Based Violence (GBV). Currently, it is operational in the Somalia, Sudanese, Eritrean refugee camps Tigray, East Amhara and Gondar located in Ethiopia. Our Organization is now seeking potential applicants for the position of Protection Specialist.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures that planning and implementation of the project activities are in accordance with the program principles, approaches, and procedures of the organization.
Works closely with other project staff and partners in planning and implementing the project activities.
Ensures effective implementation of the project activities as per the set plan of action and as per the donor requirement.
Makes sure that all plans are down to annual, quarterly, and weekly basis
Provide technical and managerial oversight and guidance to officers and Community Facilitators regarding implementation of the project.
Assess and identify technical assistance needs in regard to technical skills, supervision support, etc., for the field-based staff.
Oversee & support the day-to-day implementation of program activities including case management/psychosocial support, follow-up, and advocacy to meet the needs of beneficiaries & strengthening community capacity to prevent & respond
Conduct induction/orientation, training, and capacity building of protection mainstreaming, case management and information management trainings.
Participate in Protection related assessments (safety audit, Rapid Humanitarian assessment, etc.)
Coordinate and monitor the overall implementation of program activities based on their established indicators, including collecting and analyzing data and information for reporting.
Assist mapping, establishment and strengthening of referral pathways and referral linkage activities.
Ensure that need based services are provided for affected host communities, and returnees.
Ensure that protection of discussions and dialogues are conducted among host communities, IDPs and returnees.
Conduct training need assessment to identify government line offices and project staff’s knowledge gap and design appropriate training accordingly.
Contribute to effective case management and information management on survivors through the provision of capacity enhancement trainings.
Coordinate and monitor the overall implementation of program activities based on their established indicators, including collating, and analyzing data and information for reporting.
Conducts regular supportive supervision to region and deliver on-site support to field-based staff.
Produce and share standard project report (Monthly, Quarterly, and annual reports)
Keeps up to date the development in the sectors includes best practices examples in country and ensures ongoing personal development and learning.
Prepares regular project progress updates
Develops appropriate reporting formats together with the field officer Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer and Head office-based.
Ensure familiarity with all protection-related contracts and agreements with donors
Ensure that Field Office project staff implements protection per donor guidelines and RaDO policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned
Duration of the contract: Until December, 31/2025 with possibility of extension

Good communication and report writing skills.
Relevant and effective communication and mobilization skills to work with the local and refugee community, and local Government and other partners
Project planning and implementation experience
Proposal, concept note and report writing skills
Project management and leadership experience
Experience of working in various settings including host communities and refugees
Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
Possession of strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
Proficient in computers and relevant software applications and practice management technology.
Ability to achieve team goals while demonstrating organizational values and utilizing resources responsibly.
Ability to be proactive and take initiative.
Excellent verbal and written communication, as well as exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
